Citrine is a member of the Quartz family. Citrine is mined in Brazil and Madagascar and is faceted to enhance its brilliancy. Citrine forms large, hexagonal, prismatic crystals. It is prized in the jewelry trade for its yellow to amber colours. Other members of the Quartz family include Amethyst, Smoky and Rose Quartz, Aventurine and Tigereye.
